This weekend my mom and sister came for a visit which was so nice. We had a great weekend but getting the two of them to leave was just plain crazy. (more on the weekend later)
Jenni had a flight out on Sunday night and this is how our evening went. We packed up Jenni and left Mike home to watch the Super Bowl by himself (just like he wanted) and took our first trip to the airport. After dropping Jenni off we got a call the at her flight was delayed for 30 minutes. We went back and picked her up and went to Wendy's to have a drink while we waited. Back again to drop her off and on our way home, about 10 minutes later, we got a call from Jenni that her flight had been canceled. We turned around and went back. We got up Monday morning to try again, dropped Jenni off and got a call that her flight had been canceled again. She was scheduled to get out on the next flight, 2 hours later. Back we went and took her to the mall with us. We did a little shopping and took her back. Off Chloe, Nana, and I went to Wegman's. This is all Nana wanted to do for her visit. We were looking around and deciding what to eat for lunch when the phone rang. Jenni's flight had been canceled AGAIN (along with all the remaining flights that day to Chicago)!!! The poor thing. She was trying so hard to get back to get to work and all the forces of nature were working against her. We picked up some food and jumped in the car for our 9th trip to the airport. The next morning Jenni tried again to get out of Baltimore but ran into more problems. Her first flight had a problem with the plane and they needed a part. But the part was on another plane that was circling the airport and couldn't land. Finally, they switched her to the next flight and she finally got off the ground and returned to the Windy City. Wheeewwwwwhhhh! Who knew traveling could be such a headache?
When my mom left yesterday I told her she should just stay. Boy should she have listened to me. She had a layover in Denver and wouldn't you know it she got stuck there over night due to snowy weather. This after sitting on the tarmac in Baltimore for 2 hours before taking off.
Thanks for coming Mom and Jenni we had a great time and so sorry about how hard it was to get home. Please don't let it keep you away in the future!

I swear to you it is the curse of BWI...every time my parents have tried to leave, my Mom in particular, they have encountered torrential rain storms. Every time. They leave so stinking early and then they get delayed or sit on the tarmac or what not. It even happened last June when my sister and her 3 kids were with my Mom. I can't recall a time when my Mom just got to go home nice and easy! But, it makes the trips more memorable, right? Too bad it wasn't you that got stuck in Denver...be sure to schedule your flights through here! :)
