Crayons and Coloring

One of Chloe's new favorite activities is coloring. She loves to get in her highchair and ask for paper. This activity can be stressful for some parents, but since I discovered the greatest crayons ever made, it is fun for me too! My good friend Emily had these "washable" crayons for her little one Zoe. Something about it struck a chord and stuck with me. On a recent trip to Target we went down the crayon ailse and found a box of fat crayons for our little artist. I have just loved Chloe drawing and when she is done I just wash everything, including her, with a wet cloth and all the evidence is gone. So I guess this post is me passing on how great this product is. (Mike will just love that I'm advertising for Crayola) But the truth is, these crayons are user friendly and more importantly clean-up friendly. Once we are past the crayons on the wall stage, I think we will move on to the original crayons, but for now this is what we will be using. The result will be our little clown face, but hey, they are non-toxic! Who didn't eat a little crayon in their childhood?

Does anyone else have a great product they would recommend? I'm always on the look out for the next "must have" kid item.

Hey hey, if it weren't 11:00 at night, I'd be off to the store right now. I'm so enjoying your blog, Jodi. You have such a cute family.

Yes—Mr. Clean magic erasers, for when they (inevitably) find the non-washable writing instruments! Jodi, I'm so glad you left me a comment so I could find your blog. This is such an easy way to keep in contact with people I hardly ever see. We will definitely be at the egg hunt, so it will be fun to see you and cute Chloe!

Well, in the same family, the washable markers are great as I have found out 2 times recently with Anna. However, one step better are what we call the "magic markers" that only color on the special paper. Also a crayola product, but they only color on the paper that they come with. Can't remember the name at this exact moment. Color Wonder, maybe? Too much pregnancy amnesia to find out the name and to branch out to other categories!
