We are at the 16 month point and I can't believe it. When I was pregnant and we would hang out with our friends who had kids, I was jealous. Poor Mike would have to listen to me saying I just want this baby to come out like (insert kid's name here). I wanted my baby to just come out and be so cute. I wanted her to be able to say the cute things, walk the waddle, and make me laugh. Selfish, I know. But I can't deny how I felt. I was also worried Chloe was going to be a "FLK" (funny-looking-kid), and thought I should be saving for her sympathy plastic surgery. Not things I should be remembering or writing. Plus it is completely unnecessary as she is beautiful.
What I was meaning to say is that I LOVE MY 16 MONTH OLD! She is adorable and so worth the wait and work (I loved every stage before this also, don't get me wrong). I am absolutely eating up the stage she is in right now. Everything I say, she will say the last word (well, if prompted). My favorite is she will pray with me now. When I put her to bed we read her three stories and then she knows it is time to fold her arms. At first I was saying the prayers and she would say "AMEN." But I started noticing she would repeat some things so I started dumbing down the prayer for her benefit. Now she says the last word of what ever I dictate to her. Who knew kids could learn this so early? Not me, that is for sure.
Other things I love about her: the way she says "couluuuring" coloring, how she says "YES" and nods her head, how she wants to go for walks about 10 times a day, she loves to see what I am cooking or what is in the sink, she loves to help me with my make-up (more on this one later), how she say's "bup" (burp), "toot", and "poop" (such a potty mouth so young), and so much more.
