Potty Training, herself

With 2 weeks to go until I am induced, Chloe has chosen now to potty train. We have been working on this for about a year on and off with little success. I know it is a control issue and something I cannot control, as much as I would like to. However, something has clicked and she is keeping her pull-ups dry for the past two days. The other half of potty training is still being resisted, but we will work on the poops. She even did her "yellows" in the potty during the night, twice! I am amazed at her willingness to participate in this.

The most exciting moment was this afternoon when we were preparing for good ol' nap time. I was running around picking things up when Chloe came out of our bedroom with her pants around her ankles and her pull-up around her knees. At first I got mad saying things like why are your pants pulled down, then it dawned on me what might have happened. And sure enough I went into my bathroom to find a potty with yellow's in it. I didn't even ask if she needed to go. She just knew and she went in by herself and did it! The clapping, dancing, hugging and cheering ensued then we ran downstairs to tell Daddy all about the big moment.

Now I'm not holding my breath this is going to last, because her life is going to be turned completely upside down on July 3rd, if not sooner. There are realistic expectations of regression, but with this under her belt, the next attempt should go a little faster.
