We enjoyed a first vacation in a very long time this September with some dear friends. The week to go is the first week after Labor Day. Rates are lower, the sun is still shinning hot, and the crowds have gone back to school. It was a much needed long weekend away from responsibilities and all about relaxing at the beach. With a little interruption from Hurricane Hanna we were forced to stay indoors on Saturday. Emily and I made the best of it and hit the outlets during nap time. We had a great time just playing in the waves and sand, getting sunburned (I never peeled-amazing!), eating lots of food, and loving the Atlantic ocean.
I have over 250 pictures from this trip. So I narrowed it down a little for your view pleasure.

Mosdell's and Davis's take Bethany Beach by storm!

Two little beach babes ready for the sun and surf.

What we ate...cookies and marshmallows. For two weeks before this trip Chloe would tell us "we are going to the beach and we are going to eat cookies and marshmallows." So we did.

I just love these two!

Sharing a "snowball" on a hot day.

Taking a swim in the pool (not the cleanest pool, but easier swimming than the ocean)

He's happy to beach or doing a sort of Heisman pose.

Did I mention they loved the sand (or dirt as Chloe called it)?

Swingin' good time!

More swinging.

Emily swimming and a fish jumping right into the shot.

Presenting Hurricane Hanna!

Family picture during Hurricane Hanna warm-up.
The waves were quite impressive.

Looking at the storm.

Life guards on duty for the storm.
Notice the sign behind them "Dangerous Surf."
There was no swimming, obviously.

Letting her hair down after a day at the beach, 80's style.

I just love these two girls. Zoe and Chloe loved the sand and the water.

Beach curls.
I hope her hair keeps it curl.

Chloe is just the cutest thing! She has the most contageous smile...I got to see Jenni & Magnus on Monday (and Reid, too)- they are so much in love with that baby boy! Love the pic with the fish jumping - how the heck did you get that shot?? So fun to see your cue pics...p.s. to your question - it is someone you know!
Man, she really is too cute! I love that picture of her in her glasses. Looks like a ton of fun.
That fish shot was amazing! It looked like soooo much fun! They really are cute girls. (sniffle, sniffle) do you really have to leave?
