Basement update

With our house on the market and the market failing, I started to scrutinize our house to try and figure out what could be holding back buyers. The easiest answer was the basement. Now I didn't want to do take away Mike's decorating style in his office/man-cave, even though our agent told us it was a great selling feature (I still don't believe him), but we felt a room with clean walls would be more appealing to a larger market. So one day Chloe and I pulled every last disc, CD and laser, off the walls. Which reminds me, is anyone interested in a vintage laser disc player with a great collection of movies? Email me.

My accomplice

The beginning or the before.

Chloe was so funny.
She noticed this empty box and just got in and packed herself.
(notice all the movies, and that's only about 3/4 of them)

Empty walls

Let the painting begin. Only after all the mudding and sanding.

And...ta-da!
I took this picture 2 minutes ago.
It's not showing quality, but we have relaxed a little around here.

We were on a tight deadline for this project. We had about 2 days to do it from beginning to finish before a morning showing.

I really think this did the trick, because the 2nd showing 2 days after we finished this project brought us our current buyer. All is going well with this offer; financing is in order this time, inspections all went well, and we are actually going to start packing this week. November 17th will be our final day in Baltimore. I'm so sad, but Mike can't wait! Once we are on the road he said he will then relax.

That's a huge project you took on...Mike better watch out for the magic (or chaos) you and Chloe can create. I am dang impressed!! I loved the look of the room with the cd's and things on the wall - it was soo cool, but for selling, I guess something more appealing to all did the trick. I can't wait for you to be here in Utah so we can hang and we can get to know Chloe better.

Just to clarify, Mike did help with this project. He did a little sanding, a little mudding, and most of the paint rolling. I did the paint cutting in. We have our painting roles and we are sticking with them.

This project would have NEVER finished on time with out Mike! Love him!!

It really does look fabulous! Congrats on getting a buyer! I guess you'll be heading out as we come in. We accepted the job at Black and Decker yesterday. Woo hoo! I'll have to talk to you more about good areas to live and such if you don't mind :)
