So I took you into the bathroom and quickly stripped your shorts, shoes and socks off you and turned on the water. You love showers so you willingly got in and I started dumping cups of water on your face and eye. Daddy came in with the bottle and said we needed to flush your eye for 15 minutes. At this point it was about 5 minutes and you were not too happy about me continually putting water on your face.
Mike suggested we plug up the tub and get you to blow bubbles in the water, one of your new favorite bath time activities. At this point I went to call the pediatricians office. I got put into the nurses voice mail so I called Poison Control. Jeannette answered the call and was very helpful. With me telling her what you had sprayed she determined that the spray has a 2-4% hydrogen peroxide content. It could be harmful to the membrane over your eye, but chances are with proper flushing and resting it would be OK. But if you rub your eye too much we might have to take you in for an eye exam. She also told me a nap would be a good rest for your eye and to NOT put anything in the eye. I got off the phone feeling a little bit better. I went back into the bathroom to tell Mike and his face was all wet. I'm pretty sure he was right there with his face in the water encouraging you to do the same as he flushed your eye with water. It is moments like these that I am so grateful to have your dad working from home full-time. I'm not sure I would have been as calm or handled the situation as well with out him. He sure thinks the world of you and your sister!
Daddy went back to work and Chloe and I talked to you as you played in the water. We convinced you to get out into your monkey towel and you quickly ran away from me, which is normal. I scooped you up and you started to cry because I had captured you. We sat in the rocking chair and Chloe sweetly brought you your most favorite blanket. You rejected the towel in favor of the blanket and sat quietly with me in the chair. As we cuddled quietly you settled down and didn't move very much. This is rare! You are always on the move and for you to sit in my arms for more than 30 seconds is rare. I tried to put your diaper on you but you refused. We sat there for about 15 minutes before you laid in my lap and fell asleep while I tickled your face. I sat there saying a prayer of gratitude in my hear that you were taking a nap at 11 in the morning. I called your dad up to take a picture (yes, I'm that mom), I put a diaper on your sleeping body and put you in bed. You have been there for about 45 minutes and I think you might be waking up. Poison Control just called back and told me to watch if you rub your eye or complain about your eye.You have a little redness in your eye but you are not blinking excessively or rubbing your eye. You are not complaining about anything but we will keep a close eye on you to make sure you are OK.
I just want to apologize to you little guy. I should have put that spray bottle up a long time ago. There is no reason to have those dangerous things within your reach. Needless to say it will all be out of reach before you can get to it again! I love you so much and it makes me sad to see you suffer. It is a relief to see you as your old self so quickly! Even if it is spitting half chewed carrot on to your plate at lunch time. I love you Ryan!

Woah. That is so scary - I know it was awful but I'm glad you recorded it so quickly and freshly - he'll love reading that some day. The dumbest thing I ever did was the time Chase and I were both on antbx and I took one of his and gave him one of mine....hello, Poison Control? Yikes!!! Glad everything is okay.
Oh how scary! Things in the eye are always awful. My oldest tried to be helpful by removing the gas nozzle from the car when I wasn't watching. It sprayed all over his body and straight into his eyes. Scariest few minutes of my life calling poison control and trying to flush it all out.
oh man I am so glad that he's ok. Thats so scary! One time Parker drank nail polish remover. So dont beat yourself up. It happens to all of us.
