Home Sweet Home, Coming Soon!

We are excited to announce that we have found a house and the sellers are willing to sell it to us! It is fits almost all of our requirements, but as for the ones that are missing...changes and repairs can be made. The biggest missing item is Mike's garage. But it has a 2 car carport which we think can easily be converted to a 2 car garage. To be honest we are excited to have our very own off-street parking that is covered.

As for the house it is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom rambler in the Cottonwood Heights area. The basement has great potential, namely a separate office for Mike and play area for the kids in the large family room, plus tons of storage. The backyard is flat (Mike's requirement) and will have great afternoon shade. The down side about this house is it has dirty, gross, pink carpet through out 50% of the house, there are glitter popcorn ceilings and every wall needs to be painted, especially the dark paneling in the basement. But we have done all these things before, mostly Mike. I helped my parents scrape the ceilings of my childhood home, so hopefully I can remember some of those neck breaking skills. Come to think of it, in my condition that is probably best left up to kind volunteers and Mike. So any of you out there looking for some good scrapping fun, come by our house the end of April and we will gladly invite you to stay.

Now, just keep your fingers crossed the upcoming home inspection goes well with this one. We don't want to start looking at houses again.

P.S. I would upload a picture, but our laptops hard drive died last week and I don't know how to do it the new way yet. Stupid technology!

I'm so excited for you! I totally understand the PINK! So much excitement coming your way. Miss you! I have to say - this place was better when you were here and I'm glad we became friends. A good thing about Bmore!

Congrats! You might want to have the popcorn ceilings tested for asbestos. It's not expensive for the test, but it is expensive to have them removed, and not safe to do it yourself. Learned this the hard way.

Congrats! When do you think you will be closing? I'm a pretty good painter, I've had lots of practice on our houses. Let me know... So happy for you, I know what it is like to live with parents and In-laws! Can't wait to see it.
