We had a showing yesterday and they showed up 1 hour early! I was just about to clean the floors, as I had already been cleaning for an hour and a half, when there was a knock at my door. I shoved the diaper bag and garbage bag full of rotten vegetables, I was going to take and throw away in a random garbage can, to the side and opened the door to find a Realtor and the potential buyer at 2:30 rather than 3:30. Well I let them in and apologized for not being finished. They in turn apologized for being early. I woke Chloe from her hour nap, thanks a lot, so they could see the upstairs and tried to avoid them. I ended up staying in the house the whole time and they were gone in 10 minutes. I don't think it will be a sale with him, but that is o.k.
So there is another showing this evening and my day has been non-stop.
I have...
- done the dishes
- done all the laundry in the house
- cleaned the floors
- cleaned the kitchen
- loaded the dishwasher
- emptied the dishwasher
- reloaded the dishwasher (with 5 things)
- made cookies, all of them, no dough left over
- cleaned up making cookies
- did the cookies dishes
- allowed an almost 21 mo old to lick (lick-el-ing) the beater
- folded laundry and put it away (AMAZING!)
- colored some pictures
- bathed myself and child
- dressed us both
- changed diapers
- kept someone entertained
- fed my little pickle breakfast, snacks, and lunch
- played clips (sit on rug and look at hair clips, exciting)
- mowed the front lawn and back lawn
- trimmed the front lawn and back lawn (Mike you get to sweep)
- dusted
- wiped down surfaces
- made the bed, including changing the sheets
- taken out the trash
- polished the bathroom
- and who knows what else
Mike, I would have traded you today! But thanks for agreeing to eating out tonight (the showing is at 6:30pm), that is one less thing that needs to be done.
Well, here I go again. Nap time is over and there are still things that need to be done...
Side note: I'm not looking for sympathy, nor am I feeling bad for myself so please don't think that! I know some people do all of this in one day with more than one kid. To that person, I salute you. You must be very tired! I know I am!

I am certainly not one of those people! (phew!) Just reading that made me tired. Selling your house doesn't sound like fun at all. (But you are right, I have walked through a couple of houses that weren't very clean and it did turn me off.) Stupid buyers are SO picky! (I know, we have been looking for years now!)
Reading your post made me tired too! Man, I dont envy you. It is a pain in the neck. I remember the same type of thing when we sold our Hampden house. Lane might have been a titch older than Chloe, but it was so frustrating trying to figure out naps and having them inturrupted or missing them for nothing...what a nightmare! At least you are having showings though. That is a good thing. And don't stress: your house looks amazing and don't kill yourself, ok? Drink that Diet Coke, and maybe go and visit Baskin Robbins while you are out. Miss you!
Selling does suck it brings back nightmares for me. I seriously think that it is so stressful. One day when our house was on the market Brooke said, "Mom can I just get out one of my Polly Pockets." I felt so bad but it is so hard to keep eveything so neat and tidy.
