I have had a goal to run a marathon for a few years now. No I didn't run a marathon, but I did make a start by running my very first 5K today. The truth is my training program has been sporadic and I have not been very faithful. But procrastinating aside I followed through this time. My good friend Erika was kind enough to run with me and I know there would have been more walking if she hadn't been there. Thanks Erika, you are the best!We did pretty well and finished in 35:10 or something. Our little cheering section was at the finish line waiting for us. (Thanks guys!) The guy that won the 5K had a time of 14 minutes plus. I guess I have room for improvement. So on to the next race or just to keep running. One day I hope to actually do a marathon, but giving up brownies is really holding be back. But at least I'm exercising which is a huge improvement.
These are the pictures of us runners after the race in front of the famous and lucky Johnny Unitas statue at Ravens stadium. The additional super tall runner with us is a friend and Erika's neighbor Chris. And of course a couple of pictures of my favorite cheering section.

Wow. Chris is a very big neighbor! Good job on the race - I think I might have been able to do that about 5 years ago. Make that 5 1/2. You look so great and so does your cute family!
Looking good! I'm so proud of you guys! Chris does look exceptionally tall in that photo. Are you guys really that short? Just kidding!!!!
